Connexus appoints a new leader in NSW!
NEWS
Connexus is delighted to announce the appointment of Andrew Weir as State Director (NSW) Transport Analytics, joining from Arup where he held the role of Australasia Lead for Strategic Transport Analytics and Insights.
With 17 years of global experience spanning the UK, Middle East, Southeast Asia and Australia, the appointment of Andrew delivers specialist expertise and leadership in transport modelling, demand forecasting and strategic planning. Having worked at major tier-one consultancies in both technical and leadership roles, Andrew adds a diverse and dynamic skillset to the team. He is also a serving committee member on the Australian Institute of Traffic Planning and Management (AITPM) Transport Modelling Network.
When asked about what he was most excited about in his new role, Andrew said ” I am excited to establish and grow our NSW operations, replicating the high-quality, innovative business model that has been the foundation of Connexus Transport Advisory’s accomplishments over the past nine years in Queensland; an approach that has successfully delivered many high-profile, state and federally funded infrastructure projects for our clients. The opportunity to play a key role in developing and expanding an already thriving business into new markets was what initially piqued my interest. As I learnt more about the company, including meeting both it’s directors (one of whom is also a Scot named Andy!), and some of its major achievements, including developing Australia’s first fully integrated 3-tier transport model, and the augmented reality app Collabex, I quickly realised that this was not a typical small consultancy. They have a technical edge and a genuine passion for innovation, which I believe puts Connexus on a truly positive and impactful trajectory; the opportunity to play a key role in helping Connexus realise these growth ambitions was simply too good to miss.”
